I'd like to thank everyone for the 5 years of community I've found here, but I'm no longer a Jeep owner. My dealer performed Recall L -05 and my '08 JK burned to the ground. My wife picked up the Jeep from the Dealer and got within a block of home, she saw smoke and pulled over. She got out and it burst into flame. Chrysler and the Dealer have made the past month a living Hell. I loved that Jeep. Here's the video my friend took after responding to my wife's frantic call for help.

I hope the dealership took care of everything for you. That is the least they can do! I just hope they didn't try and pin this one on your wife!

The Dealership has done nothing. They waited 13 days to talk to me. Thirty days later,
they offered to sell me another @ Invoice. How can I buy another Jeep?

Edit: we posted at the same time but I just read yours and that's bull! How can they not replace it?

It is truly unbelievable what I've been through. No one has helped me or cares. I'm so disappointed in the Jeep family & brand.

Have you talked to a lawyers or your insurance? If you make a claim on your policy they will fight if they want to. Let them deal with.

I have decided to let my insurance company handle it. I couldn't find a law firm to take the case because unfortunately my wife wasn't injured - their point of view not mine. If my two kids were younger and still in car seats, she would have had to pick which one to save - it happened that fast!

What was the nature of the recall? What did they say they were fixing? Whats the NHTSA Number?
