Default JCR Crusader Stubby Prerunner Project

Just bought the JCR Crusader prerunner and have test fitted, sanded, degreased, mineral spirits, and just put primer down. The bumper is very thick steel and put together very well. I have no doubt this thing will last as long as the jeep. The mounting bolts are all welded into place to make installation easier.

To install it, make sure you lower the right end first, and then drop the left side (where the bracket piece mounts to the crash bar) and slide the bolts towards the jeep to hold it in place. Then secure the 8 mounting bolts, and the 1 extra bolt for the mounting bracket

Sand grit: 220 and 60 for weld spots

Primer: U-POL #8 Etching primer. I used 2 bottles to coat the whole bumper and skid with 2 coats. For the grill I just used 220 grit sandpaper to scuff up the paint a little (I missed a couple of places on the side, and the bedliner flaked off because the adhesion failed.

More pics to come....

Lessons learned:
1. Definitely hang the bumper and spray it. I had to respray multiple spots because the plastic wrap kept rubbing the edges.

2. Maintain the same psi throughout the whole spray. I tried to keep it at 50 psi, but it would drop below 40 sometimes and make the spray too thick.

3. Spray WD40 on your shoes. While I was spraying it, my shoes got stuck to the plastic and pulled it down from the ceiling and landed on the newly sprayed bumper (had to wipe smudges and respray)

4. Always wear gloves, and pants. This stuff took half a bottle of fast orange soap and a bristle brush to get it off my legs and hands

Default lighting

I've got fluorescent lights in my garage so it's hard to see the true black color and texture in the pictures. I will post pictures of the bumper installed later this week with natural light.

The raptor liner is awesome and will use it for everything in the future. It was easy to spray on, reasonable price compared to Line-x which is what I usually do. The black is black, and smooth to touch, not gritty like a lot of the rattle can bedliner sprays.

Default winch mounted

I bought the recon 10,500lb winch and just installed it on the bumper.

Looks great. I raptor lined my interior and steps this past summer. I've thought about pulling my bumper and spraying it as well.

Thanks. I would love to get my interior sprayed on. Did 1 kit cover all interior/steps?
