Talking Installing a 4" Lift in 5 Minutes

Hey There!

The Deets:
  • 2012 Sahara Unlimited 6 speed with 3050km on the odo.
  • Teraflex 4" Full FlexArm lift kit (1451400 sku) w/ JKS adjustable front track bar.
  • I installed the exhaust spacers and front sway bar links a few days prior.
  • I left the stock front drive shaft in there for now. I have a JE Reel 1310 to go in next weekend.

I took my time with the lift over 3 different days. Started by myself, had some kick-ass friends assist for 5 hours in the middle and then I finished the job solo. And my awesome wife was helping throughout fetching tools, bleeding brakes etc. She just simply rocks.

Drove it around for quite a bit today... I like the ride better than stock as it's a bit softer of a ride. Smooth drive, everything's lined up, drives straight, steering feels good with the caster I set... it's all gravy.

This 5 minute video is from my GoPro Hero2 camera taking pics every 30 seconds (note: I omitted some repetitive images).

https://vimeo.com/37503903 Measured Height Gain (from level ground to fender lip):
Front = 5 3/4"
Rear = 5 3/8"
The stock rake appears to have been removed.

My kids (11 and 12 yrs old), can no longer get into the back without some serious effort. I laughed all day today watching them climb into and fall out of the back doors. That'll teach em!

The main thing I learned? I have very weak neck muscles. Lying under a Jeep for hours while lifting your head off the ground for just the right angle to work... Maybe I have a large melon. I don't know, you decide. Whatevs...

Now to obtain some wheels and tires! Woot!

Cheers! ~ Paul.

Great job! Looks so sweet! Definitely post some pics when the tires come in. Best thing about it is you did it yourself. Congrats and enjoy!
