inspiration for my new rear bumper build
so im getting gas last night at like 3am and across the way i see an awesome HMMWV. upon closer inspection i see this awesome idea for a tire carrier.

its so simple its stupid, i cant believe no one has done this yet. details to follow...
i dont see why i cant build something similar and mount it on the right side rear bumper attachment points.

yea it looks like a threaded rod with a ratcheting handle. thinking about using an air shock though, with my on-board air it will be faster and a more convenient way to lower/raise the spare.

You can also check out the manufacturer's (Rico Equipment) website to get more details. They make these carriers for HMMWVs, H1s and H2s.

It does ratchet and it doesn't rattle. once you have the tire over the bumper, you ratchet it down and it doesn't move. I'm not Motor Transport though. I'm better than that.I do work around HMMWV's though.
