Default How I spent my long weekend...

I built a storage rack for my hardtop, thanks to the design and write-up by Sgt P. It was VERY easy to take off by myself. I also painted my hinges and the Jeep logo on the grill. They came out great. While working on the hinges, my wife came out and asked what the hell I was doing. When I told her she asked, "Why can't you just leave it alone?" My reply was, "Jeeps were not made to be left alone!" Painting them was cheaper and a lot more fun than buying the covers. Pretty productive weekend if you ask me.
Oh, I also installed a RC 2.5 BB since I last posted a picture.

Neat idea, looks awesome!

I should have thought about doing that in the first place. I built a pulley system in my garage, but its a PITA to have to worry about not backing up into stuff in my mine field of a garage. I will have to invest in making me one of those.

Are those hinges hard to get off? Would like to do this mod to ours.

I didn't take them off. I just taped and masked them. I used the green 3M masking tape from the auto parts store immediately around the hinges, then used newspaper to mask off the rest of the larger areas of the doors. The paint was Duplicolor Flat Black. I first sanded off the clearcoat, then used Duplicolor adhesion promoter before painting.
