Usually wait for a good rain. Then it gets washed off and muddy again all in the same day.
Because I have found if I hand wash it, it will rain the next day, and then our roads cover it in mud and dirt anyway.
Does get waxed a couple times a year though.

im not a big fan of swirl marks so i try to spray mine off at the car wash to get the grit off then its to the driveway with bucket and wash cloth. not much trickery after that just a good hand job to keep it happy hahaha

Fast: rinse and wash then hit it with turtle wax ice
Long: power wash, clay-bar then i use turtle wax's black box which is a black pigmented wax for black paint. every time i use it my jeep looks brand new and it does a good job of hiding my real bad scratches.

I pretty much do the same thing. I always make sure to wash the under carriage as well.

I just take it into a spray wash.
Spray with soap.
Spray with Wax.
Spray with spot-free rinse.
Dry with "The Absorber" cloth.
Tire shine with Turtle Wax spray on Shine (once in a while).
Wipe down rims with Meguiars Quik Detailing spray and a microfiber cloth used only for wheels.
Detail fenders and bumpers with 303 Aerospace Protectant (Back to black works well too) and microfiber cloth
Detail paint with Meguiars Quik and a microfiber cloth only for the paint. (I use Turtle Wax Black detailer now, but will go back to Meg's)
Clean glass, headlights, etc... with Invisible Glass and another microfiber cloth. (newspapers work wonders on exterior glass)
Old picture of my Jeep after an additional polish and wax session was done before the above steps were followed:
