Homemade Cargo net/Pet divider
So i take my two Labs with me about everywhere I go and everytime I stop and go in to a store I come out to see them setting everywhere but the back. So I made a pet divider. It's also the start of my cargo net that will cover the rear. Heres a few quick pictures (cell phone). It's not done I'm going to to retie the cross' and add a hold down for the the bottom. It's made form 3/8 rope I got at Homedepot for less the 10 bucks.
I started at the top, I wanted to be able to remove it so I mad a loop and botton setup. The washer can be feed back through the loop like a botton on a shirt.
Then I made all my runners,
Tied them together to make a net, I used zip ties for now, but i'll replace that with black wax string.
Heres it done, I made to loops for the sides as well, I just don't have a picture of them.
So thats how it sets now.... still little things to do to it but its a start and works great! Thanks DH

They make harnesses for ALL sized dogs and not only are they useful they are starting to become law in some places. IMO leaving a dog loose in a vehicle or God forbid in the back of a pick-up is pretty wreckless. Not only do they easily get hurt or killed they can seriously injure someone else in an accident.
I like your creativity making your divider. Personally when my JK arrives from the plant I'm ordering a divider and Cargo Net top from Safari Straps. They also make dividers that just block between the front seats for people who might want the entire back area open.
Here's a link to one type of harness http://www.ruffrider.com/shop/product/2.html

You know I dont have a pic of the harness but i'll get one, My Lab is only 80 lbs at the moment, still a pup but he loves it. roof and doors are off most of the summer. Even with that great divider, i would recomentd the harness.
