Default Home made CAI.

I did my first one when I bought my JK back in October, 2006. 60,000 miles later - I like this filter better. Sounds better and breathes better.

Looks like an autozone set up.
It isnt much of a cai, you have nothing surrounding the air filter, it will just take in the hot air from under the hood. I am not knocking it, just trying to help, you need something to keep the heat of the engine from getting to the filter.

Spectre Air Filter. Same for the tubing. Total of $60.00 at Pep boys or Autozone.
The valve cover breather hose and the 02 sensor both have attachments on the bottom of the stainless steel tube. Install time - 10 minutes. I'm working on a snorkel as we speak.

I have removed the OEM plastic air dam from underneath and made my own intake access through the Grille / Wheelwell. There is only Engine "Heat" - if you're idling. I get better Sound, Performance and Gas Mileage with this than I did with the Stock Box. I'm working on a Snorkel Mod right now - so this is only Stop Gap. Thanks for your Comment.

Zombie!

Could you post the parts you used? I think I can fab out my own enclosure if I feel so inclined (probably out of my stock airbox or a spare freebie if I snag one) but for day to day this would work fine for me; I can always swap back in the stocker in a few minutes for service calls or any off roading.

Did you do any custom cutting or fitting with the Spectre tube? Did it come with all the necessary fittings?

I can fab up an aluminum shield no problem to keep the filter separated from the engine I believe.

Thanks!

I have the part numbers, I was asking if you modified the kit that you got to make it work for your application?
