What muffler setup did you end up with? Is it in the stock location or moved in front of the rear axle? I'm trying to tame mine down a bit as it is just too loud.

Default exhaust

Mine came with my AEV kit, they have had two different ones. Ones oval and ones more round, I ended up with the round one, the round ones come with the new kits. Its angry! Its definitely loud! For off road its great, but for driving around town its a little loud. Its mounted in front of the rear axle.

I agree with you regarding the daily noise level of this exhaust. Because of this, I went to the local muffler shop and he put a glass pack right behind the AEV muffler. It toned it down about 30%. I still has a roar, but very little droan at highway speeds. I like it for the time being.

The AEV kit (5K) and labor (30-60 hrs) is most likely pretty consistent in cost, the price of the motor is what could fluctuate the cost. Everything brand new would, cost way more than finding a good used one. Everything brand new $17,000-$20,00 and used you could probably do it for $10,000-14,000. Of coarse if you did the labor yourself you would save even more!
