Here is the email I got back from 4ws.com when I inquired about the 5.7 with Manual transmission:

Morning Sir, We use the G238 transmission out of the large trucks. The cost on this swap will be roughly $19,200 that includes the engine and transmission with a Chrysler 1 Year warranty and all the other parts needed for the swap. We can also do any other work you want done while it's here I.E lift kit, gears, lockers, wheels and tires Ect. It normally takes 2 to 2.5 weeks to do a swap so it would be best to drop the jeep off the pick it up when it's done.

The viper manual will handle it.
I have seen some 4x4 dodge trucks with a similar setup..
More money than what is practical I think

You can get a manual with most of the hemi swaps. They use the 6sp from the RAM 2500 afaik. Or possibly an NV5600.

How do you propose to bolt a t-case to that? Plus the 1st gear ratio is very high. The RAM have a much lower (almost granny) 1st gear.

At the moment the AEV kit limits you to an auto from the 5.7 They are working on a manual version at the moment, and an auto that Chrysler puts behind the 6.1 SRT vehicles that has a closer gear ratio to keep the engine more in its powerband. At the moment I have been hearing people saying there is hesitation, and dead spots in the performance of the 6.1 unless you keep it floored because the transmision offered doesn't perform well with the 6.1.

From what I have heard from most people is the 5.7 is performing better since the current program Chrysler has released is designed to optimize the performance of that engine.

They can be done, but the computer is still set for the auto. There is no program for the manual with the Hemi available to the aftermarket. It can be done, but can not be done "right".
