Default Had a mini adventure today with the new Rubicon

We went to the deer lease today and while my brother was doing some mowing I played around a bit. Since I was by myself, i didn't get many pics. But while playing, i ended up high centering myself... Guess that means i'll HAVE to go ahead and lift it. Overall had a good time playing around and messing with the 4x4. This thing is awesome in 4 lo with the axles locked!! I'm used to my big F-250 and this thing is great to maneuver around the lease. I love it!! Anyway, only took one pic cause i didn't have my camera and didn't realize i had my phone until i was leaving. So here is the one pic of the new JK in the woods.

Lifting doesn't really add much to ground clearance. Lifiting gives you room for bigger tires. Bigger tires add to ground clearance (by one-half the increase in diameter from the previous size).

I hear pick-up drivers all of the time become confused over clearance and lifting--which may partially explain why they install outrageously high lifts that provide little off-road performance gain by themselves.

Congrat's on the new JK, BTW. Looks good, especially after you've had some fun playing in the dirt with it!

Yea, i know the whole lifting/bigger tires/clearance stuff. Just gives me an excuse to tell the wife i need to do it now I'm not going with anything crazy, maybe a 3" or so with some 35's will be the max. I already have a big truck (F-250) with a 4.5" lift and 36's. I'm not a fan of huge lifts that provide nothing for off road performance and capabilities. My truck can still be used as a truck, pulling trailers, etc and is pretty capable off road, given what it is. Those that put a huge lift on their trucks can keep them. I want my truck to be functional.
