stupid question.... what exactly are stinger bumpers used for? I dont see many of them here in the AL/GA area. Just curious.

In my experiences, the stinger serves 2 primary purposes:

1) Keeps your Jeep from flipping forward when on a steep downhill slope.
2) If number 1) fails, the stinger helps protect the hood and engine compartment from severe damage.

Better than the body of the Jeep getting scratched! That's the whole point of a stinger/any body armor!
