Default Gas Mileage

Hey family. I was thinking of getting a cool air intake for my JK, but I heard that unless you have after market exhaust, then it won't work. How are y'all increasing your gas mileage?

Thanks,
El Jeffe (The Chief)

Sorry to be so short and curt, but the best gas mileage for these vehicles is when they roll stock off the lot. After that it is all downhill.

You could use a tuner to reprogram after your lift & tires to improve gas mileage.

You can spend hundreds on a CAI, exhaust and tuner and gain a couple miles but honestly the best way to increase mpg's is to drive sensibly. You drive a brick, just go easy on the skinny pedal!

Best way is to leave it stock. Then its not so bad. I average 18.5-19.5 with stock rubi jku with manual trans. Imo not bad for the gearing, MT tires, etc... Sport is about a mpg better.

Lol too funny..... Time to trade your jeep in!!!

All kidding aside mod it up the way you want.... What helped me was a Superchip, regearing and go as easy on the skinny pedal as you can. You'll get some fuel mileage back but not the way it was when it was the boring looking stock jeep. But for me it was worth the trade off.

regear your jeep and reprogram it. I have 5 inch lift with 37 inch tires and I'm getting 20 mpg.
