Worked on it a bit just capped the open spots where the metal didnt meet. and got some measurements of where i want the tire and stuff. I havnt been able to take pix of how it is welded to the frame because i dont feel like taking the bumper off. But the next time i work on it i have to so i can make a stop and a place for the latch catch to mount on. Here are some pix...

looks great! any updates on this, as well as a pic of where the hing mounts to the frame/bumper. probably going to be doing this soon as well. Also i looked at Pattons webpage and i have to say, it kind of sucks. the pictures are crapy and no discreptions. Could you direct me to the correct hinge?
Thanks!!!

Great job on the fabrication. I like the integration into the factory bumper quite a bit.
One thing to keep in mind... those trailer spindles fracture and fail. I've broken 3. 2 from the fatigue of the tire bouncing a little and one from backing into a tree. As it turns out the tree one had been failing for some time, as there was rusting witness marks in the fracture.
A third point of contact will eliminate any movement at all and insure that the spindle doesn't fail.
