Well I got all the stuff and after some paint and a few hours of making wholes in the metal.....I didn't have the right tools! It is done and is way tight and will work perfect! Thanks guys for the idea because it was on my mind prior to looking for it on here

I had one bugee corded to the spare last year. But I read a post on another forum from a friend who is deployed that said it is disrespectful to have the flag hitting the spare tire.

I was in the army for 5 years and I never heard that but non the less the pole I have will be seeing above the spare tire by quite a bit. I will post pics on the 4th but it's raining and I will get my spare tire around Tuesday. They also call me sgt Allen

I would second the vote on not disrespectful... My spare tire is usually the cleanest part of my jeep anyways. But my flag setup will also clear the spare tire by a lot. Just don't let it get all tangled and grungy, that would be bad. I bought a PVC pipe to mount on my tire carrier with U bolts, another PVC pipe that fits snug inside the mounted pipe, spray painted the whole pole setup black, and added screw-in closeable hooks to attach the flag.

What do you guys think of this I made it in a jiffy but I feel it looks awkward. I think it sticks to far out. I also painted the piece of wood.
