+2 on the D60's.........I'm sure they be OK for now, but the truth is when you start flexing and trying to climb, you'll hear that snap or pop of the failure. Yes NEW d60's are BIG money if built right. What about building you own? If you can weld and are mecanically inclined (or know a few guys ) should be possible! Anyways, waiting to see how it happens and keep us all posted!

As for the lift, I'd say 6" long arm and some 40's and that's all you need, no need for body lift or spacers! yes keep it low and let it drop like hell!

4" and stock fenders=37's
6" plus flat fenders shouldu = 40's

Have at it, then throw a body lift if needed for the clearance.

Who's working on the cage?

I think the Currie 60's are somewhere around $3,000 - $3,800 a piece depending on what you get in them, a lot better than $11,000 I would go with built 44's to save money. Then as you break those you can upgrade then.

BTW I really like the cuts you did on the fenders!

why not do it yourself...buy some junkyard 60's and go from there???

i really hope you arent just going to buy the rubicon 44's that the catalogs are selling and then put alloys in them as that would be a total waste of money

Well if your not going to take any short cuts then you need to start with axles, 1 ton or bigger. You can go junk yard axles and get a 14 bolt and 60 for around a grand, then rebuild them to your liking with all new internals/brakes. I bet you could easily buy/build the axles for under $5,000 without going crazy. Then either make some stock style brackets yourself or buy some from currie/dynatrack and weld them on to compliment an off the shelf long arm kit. (If it were me Id go ahead and just build a custom suspension vs. buying an off the shelf long arm kit - its alot cheaper) Next some driveshafts will be needed. After that your going to need to atleast get hydro assist. Doubt the stock setup will last long at all with 40's. If you dont like the whole full width thing you can buy wheels with a good amount of backspacing to help combat the width. Again, 6 inches is the max I would go with lift height.

Thats what I would do if I was on a budget but wanted it done right. Dana 44's just arnt big enough for 40's, period.
