I don't think the new top looks as good, but I'm curious how well it works and how easy it is to use.

The cable top is designed to be a lot easier to open and close. Instead of tucking in the top on the door headers, there is a spring-loaded cable that stretched down over a new door header rail that has more foam on it and the cable seals against the foam. No need to tuck in. It will certainly be easier but there is no way it can seal better.....

The hard top is "different" too - coming from new supplier.

So was this top redesign due to the leaks?

Apparently not. I have read it bows out at speeds and leaks just as bad. I guess it just for ease of use. Time will tell.

Maybe the hard top was designed.
I don't see how this new design would fix any soft-top leaks.

I looked at the pdf of the standard features. I see that both the sport snd Sahara will have 3.21 gears. So, the sahara will be worse than the 3.73 for the newbies. thought that was interesting.

Who is the new supplier for the hardtop? Is it different?
