I would really like to find a way to utilize this for a 4 door!!!!!
I saw another post with a four door solution but he had a permanent rack installed to the roof of his JK and I'm not looking to go that far. Any ideas?

this is a look at the lifting mechanism.

could you possibly give me a measurement from your ceiling to the bottom of your top when it is hoisted all the way up? I'm trying to figure out if my Avalanche front end will fit under this thing for my setup. Thanks and great idea! This is definitely a more economical solution.

i am pretty sure your avalanche will fit.. my jeep still fits in just fine under it with 35s and a 3.5" lift. but i would say it is about 8-10 inches from the top of the garage.. but i could get it to where it raises more by change a couple bolts and tweaking the cable clamp location..

Well, as you can see, I haven't pulled the top yet, but

With my fishing boat on the hoist My JK clears it and I've still got 4' higher, to go

Course, thats with 10' ceilings

But, these hoists make a professional, unencumbered, balanced hoist sys for our tops, that you can't really MAKE yourself, for the price !!!

Anyone sure that this works well with a 4 door?...without any roof racks/bars? Amazon looks like they have them for $129 and free shipping.

I was wondering does anyone know if you can leave the freedom top hanging on the hoist. or do you need to lower it to store when not using it. Does leaving it hanging warp or damage the top if left up for extended periods of time? Garage space at my house is at a minimum. Sure would be great to just keep it up in the air and just pull my jeep in and out under it.
