Default and finally, my hard top hoist

ok, so i bought a lift from a store but it was made for lifting har tops, but it was perfect for doing this and was a steal compared to the lifts in quadratec and much easier for me to do than rig up some pulleys.

so here goes

this is a look at the lifting mechanism.

it was well worth the $100 or so i payed for it.

Default Type of lift?

That looks simple. Where did you buy from?

from a harware store, kind of like a harbor freight. it was just one of those storage things that you put stuff on and jack it up to save floor space.

my wife found it and told me to get it, probably because she wanted her parking spot in the garage back.

thanks. i actually like it better than the one in quadratec, seems more stable than the one that pulls with one cable. it doesnt move or sway that much at all.

A friend found one of those in a Costco catalog. I think they're available for purchase online for members. He was thinking about that but went with something else.

That looks like the Racor Heavy lift. It is rated at 250 pounds, more than plenty strong enough. I like that you can put the freedom panels on the rack too.

yep, that is what it is.

that is one thing i like about it, the fact i have a place for the panels.. i plan on putting the softtop on there when the hardtop goes back on.

Wow, that's a nice one. I JUST finished building a home made hoist. Had I seen that one first, it would be hanging in the garage instead. $100 you say? Would of been well worth the extra $50 for the less headache.

yeah that is what i thought. i was at harbor freight one day thinking through what i needed, and then my wife and i went to a odd lot hardware store and she found this... it was around $130 or so, but like i said, well worth the extra money for less hassle and it is super stable.
