Finally installed my oba viair 450!
After a couple weeks getting parts and brackets, I finally finished my viair 450.
For being my first big mod by myself, I think I did ok.
What do you guys think?
Had to turn the legs on compressor to fit on the bracket because the 450 bigger than the 400. Should have read more threads on it..BUT made it work! Here it is with a air manifold
Installed a quick disconnect next to the gauge and switch on driver side.
And another on the passenger side.
Temporary resting place for my tank because a 2.5 Gallon tank doesn't fit under the hood. Doh!!
Ran 2 hoses and a power wire through the small hole..

I've been toying with the idea of running the 450C with the 100% duty cycle myself, are you going to try and run air tools off it? If I go through the trouble of running an OBA system I want to make sure I can at least operate an air gun for a couple minutes if I need to.

I thought of mounting it on the roll bar on the back, but I dont like the way that looks when the top is off. I might just make a bracket and mount it on top of the sub box.
I just want to be prepared for anything. I do plan to carry some air tools for emergencies. cant wait to try it out!

Found a small leak on my tank, screwed in bolt at an angle.. Smh!
Do you think Jb weld would be a good fix?

Should work. Just give it some time to set up before pressurizing the tank. Was it a plug you cross threaded? If so, you can drill/tap it and put in a bigger plug.

I wouldn't use JB weld as it will get brittle and not great under pressure. I use the white thread sealer from Loc-tite. I have cycled that stuff to around 200psi almost daily. JB weld is good for low pressures where it doesn't get alot of moisture. A compressor will. I have used the loc-tite on very sloppy threads. Put it on let it cure and your good. Plus it won't give you an issue if you have to take it back out.

I used Jb on the leak and it looks like it seals it pretty good..BUT I found another leak on the tank and, I think I'm gonna try it your way.. Did you put it over the tape??
