Default Finally, AEV Hood Installed

OK,

So I bought my Sahara back in Late October, and bought my AEV Hood like a week after that. Well being a painter I never get around to doing my own stuff. Well Sunday I had to move the AEV hood to get to something that was behind it.

So I got pissed and painted the hood, Finally.

Really nice. Great looking JK. Any thoughts/worries about the side vent letting water get to your CAI? Looking at the picture made me think about that opening being right in the area of the CAI.

Looking good Boots. I'm hoping to get my Jeep back tomorrow early enough to drive it over to the shop that's got the hood and have them put it on.

Since I'm a total noob to the Jeep world, and going based off memory since my Jeep is still at the shop, is the hood easy to take off and the AEV one easy to mount up? If I recall, much like doors it's got a hinge like a door and I would think that as long as you lay it into the hinge properly and put the bolt back in, that's all it takes. Is that right?

Yes, I have a little worry about the water and CAI, may get the AEV Snorkel or re-install the stock box and just add a K&N filter.

Hood is a very easy install, very easy. The fit was right on with the AEV Hood, did'nt need to make any adjustments at all.

Just unbolt your stock hood: First disconnect the ground strap over by the batterey, next un-plug your hose for the winsheild cleaner, then take off your front latch and spring.

Close hood: you will need a #45 Torx bite to re-move the bolts from the hood hinges. after takeing off the bolts for the hinge, just lift the hood off.

To install new AEV Hood just reverse steps........

I like it! I wish you were closer! I would pay you to paint mine (when I can afford one)!
