Default Finally.

Finally got a jeep as of last night. For a while I thought I was going to get a Sunburst Orange Jeep, but that didn't work out. This one just happened to work out really well. Still finalizing the buying process, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post up a picture. I've read over these forums for almost a year now and have posted a little, but not much. Thanks for everyone who has helped out. 08 JK auto with 57k miles.

Great choice for a first Jeep. Them silvers sure look good when grown up.

Thanks guys. I think so too.. It's actually an X with sahara flares and silver bumper inserts. The dealership put the Sahara stickers on it. I'll probably be taking those off anyways. Since I got it for much less than what we intended to spend, I might be able to begin mods soon. As far as my mod plans go, I debated over whether to go with a 2.5 teraflex bb or coil lift and im leaning towards the coil lift just for the fact that I might be adding new bumpers later. Will probably be going with 315/75r16 Goodyear MTR w/kevlar and some XD Bully Wheels. And of course a 5.13 regear. Or I guess I could go 33's, but after all I've read on here, most everybody is saying they regret 33's and wished they had gone with 35's. This is my only vehicle and daily driver, and will only see lots of trails, some sand on the river, and some occasional mud. Lots of directions I guess I could go . Any input or ideas?

Your planned mods sound good, I have 35's and use mine as a DD with no issues. I would go with those instead of the 33's, you won't regret it IMHO. Congrats on the new JEEP purchase and welcome to the forum!

Thanks man. Ya'll don't realize how much I've gotten to learn after reading through these forums. Can't thank you guys enough. But the 35's everyday don't bother you too much? It doesn't drive too bad? I know it won't be like stock, but I'm guessing the looks and performance outweigh the small decrease in ride quality.

Welcome and congrats on the Jeep. I personally think that the 2-doors don't look that bad with 33's, and the Unlimiteds need 35's for proportion due to the length. Once I get my Jeep lifted I will be happy for a while on my 33" Duratracs. I have a longer commute now than when I had the Unlimited on 35's and I am enjoying the good mileage with "light" wheels and tires with a slightly aggressive look.

Ahh but you've gotta love 35's.

I don't miss the constant downshifting to 4th and the resulting 13-14MPG though.

Auto haha. Couldn't find a manual for the right price. And i'm regearing anyways. It wouldn't be much better with 33's would it?
