Seriously, I'm on a budget and do plan on upgrading the winch and possibly the bumper (love the shrockworks!) next spring/summer. This was all a huge experiment and a mild case of boredom/curiosity seeking. The 10,000 lb winch, winch plate, hoop, and hardware cost less than $500...
Nice...hey that winch will last you forever....and if you dont use it alot? then keep it...its all the winch you need and very dependable

Thanks guys! The winch is indeed a cheapo but if I use it 1-3 times to get out of a jam I figure it paid for itself. Regular $599 on sale for $399 with winch plate and fairlead. I do have my sites on a Warn or Superwinch but funds will be tight (short of a windfall) untill next spring or summer. I have other mods lined up and a top of the line winch is on down the line some... Thanks again, this project was fun!

hell for 400 bucks if it pulls 8000lbs and works thats awesome! where did you get it??

also did you make and weld that hoop on??

The winch is from Harbor Freight... The hoop was meant for a TJ but fits fine on the JK frame rails...
