They are Hi-lift Jack holes. They are supported on the back side by the internal structure of the winch-mount. Its a bit more complex than that but, basically there solid. Now with that said the one hard part about using them is that the vertical part of the hi-lift tends to just barely rub the hoop, so if we use them we usually put a towel or something over the hoop to keep it from scratching. Their are also some on the rear bumper but we're still dialing them in. They work fine on the rear bumper but the bumper tends to shift when used so if has to be ajusted afterwords.
