EVO Rear RockSkins and Tire Carrier Install

If you bought the tail lights from evo then they should have sent out a 6ohm 50 watt resistor. This will slow down the turn signal flash rate. There is no need to replace the flasher as mentioned a few posts above.

EVOs supplied tail lights have turn signal, running light, and brake light function, as well as a resistor. The only function they lack is reverse lights. If the turn signal is blinking too fast, you wired it wrong. I had mine switched at first. See my wiring schematic above for proper wiring in my 2013.

Drivers
Jeep to LED
W/Y to Blk
W/G to R
Blk to W
Purple to nothing
Passenger
Jeep to LED
W to R
Blk to W
P to Blk
G to nothing
I'm guessing your gray is the same as my purple.
My passenger side blinks normal now, but the drivers, no matter the combination blinks fast.

My G = Green
The guy at EVO told me the little do-hicky attached to the LED light was a...I think he said a heat sink or something to dissipate heat. He was clear that it was not a resister.

Got it, I'm fixed.

Here's his solution.
Here's the list of connections (and on my jeep the same colors were present on both passenger and driver sides):
- Jeep Black to LED White
- Jeep Yellow Stripe to LED Green (or in some cases LED red)
- Jeep Purple Stripe to LED Black

Yup - that's what I sent to him and what works on my JK.

I think that's also a resistor, the way it's wired (looped between the ground wire and the turn signal wire). A heat sink would be attached directly on the LED housing or whatever component is producing heat that needs to be dissipated - not "wired" to it.
