Coming from Tallahassee, you need to take Highway 20 all the way into Niceville. You need to visit a place called Jackson Guard to get a range pass ($12 per individual). Jackson Guard is located off of Highway 85. Take 20 into Niceville, then turn North onto Highway 85 and then about 1,000 yards up on the right, you'll see the entrance for Jackson Guard (right before the Eglin Golf Course). Included with that pass, they will give you a free map, which covers the entire Eglin Range that pass is permitted on. Very, very useful. I frequent the trails that are off of Highway 87 that run you out to Navarre Pointe.

Yes, public use land....and LOTS of trails. Land wise, Eglin is the largest base and owns the most land. I can upload other pics when on home computer.

Trips to Eglin Range
If any of you are headed to Eglin Range, let's all try to get together....the more Jeeps, the better the trip.
I live in Panama City, but my folks live in Niceville (right outside Eglin) and I visit them often.

Remember, before you go out on that range, be sure to get a range pass from Jackson Guard...the Eglin cops are no joke out there.
