I actually had this solved on my JK for a while.
I give you a hint: The plastic caulk strips for bathtubs with the mastic on the back.
It basically created a gutter from where the water ran off the hardtop, down the windshield to the door hinge. I eventually removed it, since the plastic isn't sold in black, which made it look funky on my black Jeep.

Door Drip
I drilled a hole at the very front corner of the trough. It allows the water to drain. Still get a little bit but it is a lot less than it was.

I complained to Chrysler about the water coming off the hardtop when the door is open. The little gutter directs all the roof water to the floor. They suggested this mod.
