I have been hiking in the morning, crossed streams, and found them unpassable at the pplace I had crossed. No big deal. You move up or down stream to a more suitable place to cross, or relax and make camp, crossing again in the morning.

But to attempt that crossing in a jeep in that place with that flow and undiscernible depth of the river is beyond stupid. I don't care where it is, actually. How bad to you want to get to the other side? Or how bad do you NEED to get to the other side?

And I mean the other side of the river here, not the other side of the grass with 6 ft of dirt on your head.

I was anxious for the guy as well.

I hope that his ability to ultimately recover his jeep does not embolden him to try something so stupid again.

that's how all the hardcore jeepers who actually like ruining their jeeps wash them...it's ok though...it's a jeep thing.
