Default Daystar Hood Latch Install

I installed a set of Daystar Hood Latches earlier. Took about 15 minutes. Your going to need 2-vice grips and 2-Phillips Head screw drivers.

Packaged Kit

Attach Vice Grips as shown and twist them in opposite directions. They will snap loose. Discard the broken cap and plastic pin. Repeat on the next section.

This is what it will look like after you snap the plastic pins and remove them.

The Daystar Hood latch kit includes 2-latches, 4-threaded pins, 4-screws & Loctite.

Make sure the flat part is attached to the bottom mounting bracket.

The new installed Daystar Hood Latch is a beast to lock the first time. Use a bit of muscle and snap it shut.

Nice write up. I was to lazy to order those. I had velcro so I used it. 60mph head wind and no flutter.

Looks cool, but why wouldn't you just save that money and remove the hood spring That will fix the flutter right away.

I wish I saw this before I did my Daystars. Nice pics and write up.
I could see a major difference with hood flutter.
