The other issue is the availability of lockers and gearing. There are some gears available, but very few lockers. Detroit and ARB are the only ones that come to mind.
Oh, and then there is the bolt patern. Its not a standard 8 on 6.5 patern, its fords metric patern. So you will basically need the Sterling axle from the back (also cheap and available) to match it. The axles would be plenty strong for any jeep running 40's or less. And if going into a TJ or older, you don't need to worry about speed sensors and the like.

I was thinking about this because I have a stupid duty, and would like to run 35s on both me JK and F250... How cool would it be if I could share tires and wheels between the two...

Dana 50 is a pile of crap.
1. The stock inner shafts neck down to 30 spline (smaller than a JK 44).
2. Almost no availability of aftermarket gears or lockers.
3. All the weight of a 60 but weaker.
4. 8x170mm bolt pattern.
5. Balljoints. If you're going to put something as big and heavy as a 60 in, at least get kingpins.
6. Unit bearings. All the cheap dana 50s you see are out of Super Dutys and their unit bearings are gonna be toast. $$$ to replace.

One more question though, how do you really feel about the Dana 50???
