Custom rear bumper and tire carrier??

ok so when I make my mounts for it do they just bolt to the side of the frame and not use the little brackets in the middle section like to stock bumper?? dis anyone take any pics during the build, I am getting my material list together now, this will be my first big build. Also on the tire carrier, for the lower cross bar the the hinge and piviot mount to would it be better to use 2X3 tubing or
2X2 tubing????

sorry just re read your post on the 2x3 tubing, could someone please snap a pic from the underneath or the rear to see the mounting brackets on a custom rear or and aftermarket rear bumper?? Thanks
