One of the guys in our local club is a photo buff and this is one of his pictures. It is a setting that he has on his camera that takes 3 quick shots and melds them together to create a 3D image. I would love to upgrade my camera as well but that would cut into mod money.

That is an HDR Image not a 3D Image. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. That means it takes mutiple pictues at different exposures that you can blend together.
