Keep your chin up Crash. "This to shall pass" It will all work out.

For those that are bashing him for what he did with his jeep, Grow up!!!!!!!!! To each their own. Everyone here wheels in different ways. Yes he went deep. Oh well. He dosen't seems to me as panhandling for money. He is asking for suggestions as to how to fix problems. That is it!!!!!!!!!!!!! So cut the man some slack.

You know if you document this properly, you could create a magazine article or video or blog about how to Kill a Jeep (almost) and Bring it Back to Life.

In Media "Content is King" and this is a very unlikely story.

Best of Luck!

Probably right, not the best idea, of course when they pulled out the console and saw all the water damage and mud, the probably figured it out anyway.

crash, does it ever seem like no matter what u do there is always someone there to force their views, opinions or worse, guilt u into seeing things their way.

I personally was awestruck that someone was crazy enough to do what u did.

i will say that one thing i have learned in life is that crazy people have the best stories and exciting lives. and someone with the name of Crash has alot to live up to!!

in the process of fixing tonka, i bet u have learned a great deal about how it is built and how to fix it. break a few more things and u will become a specialist that others come to when they sink their jeep-submarine for help recovering from it!

One day i may be so brave.

give'm hell.

I just got finished reading all 50+ pages.

1. This is one of the most fascinating threads I've ever read on a forum

2. It sucks that Crash has done so very much to fix his Jeep only to now be at an impasse over something that can only be done by a dealer, or so it seems.

3. This topic certainly stirs up some haters, which is ironic considering this is a forum dedicated to the penultimate off-road vehicle.

4. I don't know if Crash bought his Jeep from the dealership where it's locked away, but you would think they'd have a little more customer loyalty than to essentially hold his ride hostage.

It's true they aren't a charity, but from my perspective, it's better business to not give your vehicle buying customers a case of the redass when it comes to a trivial $80 diagnostic fee. That's the kind of bullshit that makes people go elsewhere to do business.

I'm gathering some things to take to the pawn shop.
I'll get the money.

My Insurance company doesn't cover offroad.

Thanks.
Maybe Using a Credit Card? instead of going to pawn off some materials?

Pawned items don't cost you 20-30% over time . . .

i dont know if this is gettin me into trouble or not...but honestly, its near christmas guys...and in the christmas spirit and spirit of jeep...we should start some kind of donation. i mean there are tons of members on here, completely voluntary, but if they guys that could spare a few bucks, im not sayin alot...but it would add up. helping out a fellow jeeper is what its all about. gettin this guy his jeep back would make his christmas for the year! im in.

Not to be rude or anything but if you want to send him money, by all means, send him money. Don't badger the other members and attempt to push guilt in the guise of Christmas spirit . . .
