Sounds like it. I don't know how the Jeep will react to the sensor being broken, but supposedly without a chipped key, the Jeep will still start and run for a few seconds, then shut off.

You're getting closer Crash. The Tonka will live again. I know it.

I checked the part, and it is the Keyless Entry Module.
Um, yeah. I don't have keyless entry. Unless you count the fact that my doors stay off. Lol.

Repaired/reinstalled starter.
Motor started, made loud awful noises, smoked, and died.

What's my next step?

This may sound a little stupid, but Tonka was underwater for a long time, you may have water (at this point maybe dried mud) plugging your exhaust. Have you pulled it and checked yet? That would cause the motor to backfire/smoke/make awful noise as the exhaust pressure builds and tries to escape back up into the engine thru the cylinders.
