Glad to see some work being done on this thing, itd be a shame to see a jk go to waste. I mean look what 6dof did with his, if he can do that, no jk should ever go to waste

Body work is a lot easier to do than electrical issues. Just look at the problems 6dof ran into getting all of the warning lights to turn off. Crash has a long road ahead that will be slow and tedious.

Oh I dont doubt that for a second, but still, I believe it will be worth it in the end, too new of a vehicle and too much pride, at least for me, to let it go so early

OK. enough sitting.
heres my plan of attack.

washed it monday (and tues)
Pulled comp and fuse box today.
gonna clean/scrub and dry completely.

(every Sunday will be my JK workday if anyone wants to join me. Alishia says to give her a head count and she will cook for EVERYBODY)

In the very near future...

pull off remaining bushwacker flare to grant easier access to engine compartment.
Change all fluids.
Pull valve covers off if necessary to check for water(Anyone?)
Recharge battery, perhaps try to finda deal on an optima (what color?).
reseal damaged airbox
Put everything back together, see what happens.

Reset programming to stock.
Does anyone know if the flashpaq pulls codes?
from there, its just play it by ear to see what isnt working.
I have a feeling that the column will need to come apart. (a guy from the Dodge house stopped by and said that if the key chip sensor got wet, it could disable everything)

once it runs again, ill need to figure out:
fenders
rails/steps
front bumper
stereo
A/C
water in rear foglights.
seat covers (seats are badly stained...from mud, not the other. lol.)
maybe nack doors will be out by then....I didnt even bother washing my full doors.

will also probably:
space the rear coils to compensate for the LOD rear.
Sprayliner the interior while its nekkid.
rename the jeep....leaning towards "RESURRECTION" along the hood.
seriously consider a winch
install Rugged Ridges new lightbar. Im sure it will be out by the time I get all of this done. Maybe Ill get some Christmas money to get it.

also seriously considering bedlining the grill, and painting all of the inserts and light guards yellow.

dont worry about taking your valve covers off... i mean you could but the water would have drained into the oil and any leftover condensation will go away after its first warm up after you get her started.

definatly get the key checked out. my gf key on her GC went haywire I had to break into the remote start to get the spare key to get her to dodge to get a new key..... all the dash lights would light up but the jeep wouldnt start

Sounds like a good list to me, Id work on the running part before the cosmetic part, though im sure you already planned that.

As far as the Optima I'd go yellowtop first but in all honesty red is pretty good too, each person has their favorite but either work great and either are WAY better than stock, I may be able to get you one hell of a deal on a new one, no promises but give me til friday and I'll see hat I can do.

Ill have to go back and look at your list to see if there is anything else I can help with but i will let you know
