I wanted to address a few things.
I feel from everyone asking about our safety that some people may think we were in danger.
What happened is we crossed a big puddle a few times, the cab filled with water, but it still floated too much for us to move very quickly.
We are still moving in all of the photos posted.
(yes that was my second time through there)
My son was never in danger, nor was he even scared.
He thought it was cool that water was rushing in the floor.
His booster seat kept him above most of the water.
As for those who think it was stupid...
OF COURSE IT WAS STUPID!
almost everything we do in our Jeeps is stupid.
Most extreme activities are just that.
If it was intelligent and tame, it wouldnt be much fun.
All of you "smart" people have fun at the mall.
I will continue to make my children happy and have fun with them.
Material things can be repaired and replaced.
True, it will be a lot of work to fix my Jeep.
and Im sure it wont be cheap.
But my son has a birthday story he will remember forever...
A great time with his dad when they turned a Jeep into a boat.

I have wheeled with crash... I figured out fast that he likes the water... loves the mud... and is pretty much "balls to the wall" but I never saw him endanger himself or anyone else on the trail.

Had I a snorkel, I would attempt the same. ONLY with a winch + strap(s) ready to roll and I'd be crawling through it. So if i killed it, the other Jeep would immediately tug me out versus soaking in it. So i can't say it was "stupid", i'd just do it under other circumstances.
Sorry to see that happen to anyone's Jeep. "Stupid" or not it really doesn't matter. He isn't on the witness stand, and nobody here should be trying to interrogate. He doesn't need to defend his actions on here.

I'm not sure I get all of the negative comments. Playing in the water can get expensive, but as far as safety is concerned, it seems a heck of a lot "safer" for the occupants than some of the off camber and/or steep stuff people are regularly running at Moab.
My hat is off to you Crash. If people weren't out there pushing the limits, there really wouldn't be any need for aftermarket companies to come up with better/stronger parts. Hell, there probably wouldn't even be a need for Jeeps to begin with because we would all be too scared to leave the road.
Oh, and for the record, about 20 years ago I hydrolocked my Blazer with a four inch lift (filled the interior up to the dash).

I just looked at the pic, the skull kills me! It 's like in a Dennis Leary voice "You F'n asshole!!, WTF did you do that for?@$#@$%%@#$ continuous cursing" I'm sure something good will come outta this Crash, maybe not immediately, but I wish you the best. We'll wait patiently for you and whateverbeast you come up with or a revived Frankentonka.
