there's a fine line between jeeping and stupidity, I think crash just crossed it, I know everybody is trying to be nice to crash as he seems like a nice guy(I think so too) and also asking about his family, but I'm sorry in this case if anything went wrong it seems like it was his fault unless there is something I'm not seeing,(like he just had to get across and there was no other way around) everybody is responsible for themselves, passengers and vehicles. Of course is his jeep and he can do whatever he wants with it. we have all seen videos in which we think what the heck were they thinking, I think this might be one of them. two of my friends lost their jeeps on a river, and there was nothing they could do about it, we tried to save them, but the water rose to quickly, so when I see somebody messing up his jeep on purpose I don't like it but then again is his jeep.......

nice attempt....... Jeep = 0..... Water = 1

You should get a hold of Dave.....aka.... 07Rubi2dr.... I know he submerged his Rubicon once for 4 hours up over the top of his dash. He left his jeep running though (snorkel) the whole time, while he sat on the roof......He has a couple electrical issues after, but i think they are all worked out...maybe he will pipe in here...good luck man

If water is your first love, you should buy a boat.

Honest question: at what point is it no longer balls and daring to drive into an obviously large body of water of unknown depth? At what point does it become, perhaps, imprudent?

I wanted to address a few things.

I feel from everyone asking about our safety that some people may think we were in danger.

What happened is we crossed a big puddle a few times, the cab filled with water, but it still floated too much for us to move very quickly.
We are still moving in all of the photos posted.
(yes that was my second time through there)

My son was never in danger, nor was he even scared.
He thought it was cool that water was rushing in the floor.
His booster seat kept him above most of the water.

As for those who think it was stupid...
OF COURSE IT WAS STUPID!
almost everything we do in our Jeeps is stupid.
Most extreme activities are just that.
If it was intelligent and tame, it wouldnt be much fun.

All of you "smart" people have fun at the mall.
I will continue to make my children happy and have fun with them.
Material things can be repaired and replaced.

True, it will be a lot of work to fix my Jeep.
and Im sure it wont be cheap.
But my son has a birthday story he will remember forever...
A great time with his dad when they turned a Jeep into a boat.

If all else fails bury it up to the axles and make it into a sand box. Like this, only better.
