Call your insurance company most of them will fix the crack for free if it isn't in the drivers field of vision and it is smaller than a dollar. Fix as is put that sealant stuff in it and keep it from wrecking the whole windshield.

Sadly our flat windshields are very prone to this. Like those above me, I say just get it spot fixed or it'll grow and then you will be forced to replace it. Some big car washes offer the service too. I try to stay away from insurance at all costs personally. Never know what they record for blackmailing you on future billing.
