The seat will fold down still. It is bolted to the holes where the hard top would go. Basically needed to install it because anyone who really wanted to could get into the car due to my soft top. Plus it will be just as useful when the top is off completely. So with that board bolted in the only way to reach that stuff is by opening the tailgate. The instatrunk costs about 200 dollars and I built this for 20!

Yeah, nothing is foolproof. I have the new Tuffy security enclosure for the 2-door, and it would be pretty easy to pry up and out. I am thinking of taking it to a welder to reinforce the lid of the enclosure with a steel rod or flat bar, it flexes a lot in the center.
