We do both with ours, so it's hard to call any mod specific to camping.

Biggest space saver is to get water outside of the vehicle

I fabricated a NATO/Scepter Can holder as part of the lower rear hinge. I have a write up on how to do it on the forum somewhere with good pics.

Then is all the Molle Stuff throughout the inside

From there, I have a large military sealed pelican style case that fills the rear of the JK. In that goes the sleeping bags, tent, cooking, MRE's and so on.

We do a have converted Parachute that latches onto the JK and makes a large awning where we set base camp up under.

I have a piece of unistrut across the back that I can clip my packs to so that gear does not roll around and water bags don't get crushed, popped. Nothing fancy, but it works

similar to this

This is our camping mod. It's the Off Road Evolution trail table which is great for holding a two burner stove. Also, we have a trail rack which doubles as a paper towel holder (not shown in this pic) for when you're cooking at the trail table. Because space is at a premium we've begun downsizing standard camping gear in favor of backpacking gear and so far we are able to get a tent, 2 sleeping bags, pillows, rolls into one large duffel bag.

I like the Off Road Evolution trail table but the price is a little steep.

It's a lot cheaper than the one I'd been looking at ($400). I'm getting one of these!

You can try getting them used...I saw one of the members is selling his/hers on the forum so check it out you might get a good deal. I can say it was one of the best things we've bought for the jeep this year.

Red face I'm fixed up...

For camping and hiking, I built a trailer and supplied it with a RTT from uuu.bundugear.com.

I've got a kitchen, bath, hot & cold running water, electric fridge all the niceties! Sure makes coming back to camp a luxury to take a hot shower and fix a warm meal! I do most of my camping/fishing early or late in the year. Sleeping in the heat of summer is a bummer.
