You can adjust the brightness on the controller. But it can definitely be pretty bright, especially at night it looks awesome. They have a bunch of different modes that make it strobe and/or fade colors and u can control the speed. And u can pause the color if u want it to stay one solid color

I did the same thing in my JKU. I used the lights from LEDGlow.com. Quality items, plug and play. 1 million colors, variations, speeds, etc... (At least that how they market them) I installed myself. Total cost me $60
