295*.03937=11.6 inches wide (.03937= conversion of mm to inches)
295*.70=206.5 (70 is the percent of how tall each sidewall is compared to the width of tire so seventy percent to 295 mm.
so 206.5mm*.03937= 8 inches per sidewall
8+8=16 (two sidewalls per tire)
16+17=33 (two sidewalls plus wheelsize in the middle)
33 inch tire! (plus a little i rounded the 8 inches)
33X11.60R17
so in review
295 = width in mm of tire
70= ratio of sidewall height compared to width (295*.7)
17= wheel size
