Great question. I'm not sure if I can even answer that correctly.. I was leaning towards 5.13s, but some better judges told me to go for the 5.38s. I can honestly say that I don't feel like I lost as much power as anticipated. I traded in an '11 for the '12 and THANK GOD! It still will get up when I need it to on the highway and gets around 14.3 mpgs on the hwy and around 12.5 to 13 around town.

Sure you can. Hit those fender lights, blinkers, and tail lights with some tint.

I'd consider some tinted lens covers, but I'm not painting the lenses.

When you say paint, are you referencing "paint" or spray tint? I wouldn't ever us paint either but I did use spray tint. I picked up some extra blinkers off Craig's list for like $10... Just in case the police want to harass me, i can swap 'em out. Those fender lights had to be blacked out though...nothing illegal about them being tinted...it's a fender light. They pop out and 3 coats of the spray tint will have them blacked out where they are still visible when the lights are turned on.
