body armor bumper story
Took the kids camping with a couple friends and their kids a couple weekends ago and we were grilling out drinking a couple beers.
Only one other group in the entire campsite.
When it turned dark we noticed a couple of headlights start coming down the trail.
oh National Park Forest Rangers. that's cool. One continues down the trail to check out the other campsite.
One stops to check our permit and i guess the guy was excited to give us a ticket for having a couple beers. Of course we happened to be camping in a dry county. Apparently he forgot to put his vehicle in park and while he was talking with me his truck ran into the front of my jeep.
Luckily i put the body armor front bumper on already and it wasn't sitting in my garage collecting dust. No scratches on my jeep. It just kinda shrugged then settled back where it was. Tilted my fog light down a bit.
The front plastic on his truck pretty much exploded. Ripped his front license plate off. Love my bumper.
His buddy comes back thinking somebody fired a gun. Luckily he didn't react like I was shooting a gun. So they took pictures of the front of his vehicle filled out a report. And didn't say anything else about our alcohol violation.
Yeah my body armor bumper helped me beat a ticket.
Anyways picture of the front of the jeep.

When these things happen everything goes in slow motion. The cop happened to let out an expletive and dart towards his truck.
In the same time it took him to get to his door I thought "Oh no my jeep, Well at least I didn't mess up. I'm pretty sure they have insurance, Oh no I'm 700 miles from home. No damage, No damage, No damage."
I like the area down here in deerfield. I miss the cold sometimes though. Moved down here from NoVA. but then I look back and realize i'm wearing flip flops in December. Nevermind I don't miss the cold.
