Here is my Rhode Gear spare tire mounted rack. It is rated for 2 bikes. I have been using it on for 12 years. 11 on my YJ and 1 on my JK. So far so good. I have been looking for another one to replace it with.

Hey 4x4. Got a thule hitch mount. I have a 35 x 12.50. I just need to by a 6" extention and I was good to go. Soon as I get off my lazy ass I will post a picture.

i ended up getting this xport rack ($130) - it's a flatbed like the thule t2 and fits two bikes without hitch extension on my 285 width tires...and pretty light to carry.

the quality isn't quite as good as the t2, but works for me. the only drawback is it has a 1 1/4" mount with a plastic 2" adapter which seems a little wobbly at times.

Heres what I did, the cargo carrier was about 50 bucks and the Yakima mounts were about 20 bucks a piece I think, plus I wanted something I could use to haul stuff when the bike wasnt on it.. and would let the rear gate open without taking it off..works great for me..

Thats a pretty cool set up. I ended up going with a Thule spare me rack. It only holds 2 bikes but I am the only one that uses it, me and my son. I am in the market for new tires and rims, 33" or 35" so I suspect that my thule spare me rack wont fit. Oh well I guess I will be in the market for a hitch rack again..

Default Kingpin 4

I have the Yakima Kingpin 4 hitch rack from my previous vehicle and had to buy an extension to get it to clear the spare on my Sahara. Because of the bottome tube, you can't open the swing gate. I am ordering a 2 inch drop receiver and that should get me the extension and drop I need, with the stock tire anyway.

Mounted a #724 Saris T-Rax Pro bike rack today. The T-Rax Pro has a longer than usual hitch base, about 5 inches longer than what you'll find on Yakima and Thule hitch racks. That extra length is perfect to allow the rack to fit behind the spare tire without using a hitch extension. With my 34" tire...I cant open the door completely...just misses clearing by an inch or so...but I have the bestop instatrunk so thats all the access i need. Bigger stuff goes through the window or in the back seat.
