i agree that bestop is at fault here. BUT when it comes to jeep mods (non stock soft tops included) You have to expect something may go wrong, and be prepared (financially, time, and mentally etc etc) to deal with it. not that i dont vent when i have bad experiences too. but ive ran into snags on almost every mod ive done. its just part of it.

They suggested to take my rear headrests out to alleviate the problem. Well this is a problem for three reasons A. What if I have passengers in the back this causes a safety issue. B. Why should I change my stock configuration to fit around there product when it specifically stated for a 2011 (I like the way the headrests look with the top off). C. How the hell do I even get them out (tried numerous times). I asked for a refund in the amount of 2 - 2010 headrests and a new back window since it is now damaged from the headrests. They refuse to give me a refund for the headrests but will send me a new back window. So buyer be ware to all you 2011 2 door owners. Bestop really let me down on this product.

Remove the headrests. By pushing in the small button at the base of each headrest leg and lift them out of the seat back. I ditched mine within 10 minutes of being home from the dealer. Also i usually run with the back seat gone anyhow. I think that all New vehicles after the '09 or'10 model year get revised rear headrests probably more unnecessary big brother fed gov crap.

No need to be a jerk about it. He paid money for a product that has flaws, he can whine all he wants about it. Yes he can make it work, but if you've ever had to deal with a company that tells you fix the problem yourself or return the product its frustrating. It's a shame you felt the need to voice your opinion when the OP has a valid reason to be upset. The only thing worse than a whiney JK owner is an obnoxious one.

Just ordered my 3rd jk and 3rd trek top! I pulled the back seat the day I bought the jeep, Its a 2dr, therefor 2 seats, If you must run with a back seat pull the headrests, they are to hard any way. Trek top is the best lid for a jk.

Headrest Trektop issue with NX?
Looking for comments from users of the new Trektop NX on a 2 door 07. Like most, I keep the backseat in the garage except for special occasions when I need to stuff two small people in the back. Not going to be often anymore since the wife just got a Jeep Patriot Sport. I want to replace my noisy leaky OEM top with a sunroof option, like the trektop NX, and use it all season in the Chicago area. Seeing the advice below, I'd remove the headrests. Any other issues or advice regarding use, rear window zip-up / roll up, or any orhter pertinent advice? Can the rear window be rolled up and clipped in place, even with sides still in? I like the look, even on the 2 door. What's the difference between the Trektop and Supertop, besides rear window and $$?

The Trektop doesnt have a frame and therefore doesnt fold down. Windows do not roll up, they are removable, It also has a different shape in the back.

I think the trektop looks great on a 2 door! And I think it is mandatory for a 2 door to remove the headrests, otherwise you can't see for crap out the rearview mirror.
My 2dr has no backseat and no tailgate mounted spare. The visibility out back is amazing!

Thanks for the info, now I get it. I guess the only frame is at the front to provide for the folding roof and header clips. I see how the rest attaches to the door frame and roll bar. Any issues with the header seal as far as noise or leakage?
