Default Best slider/step combo?

I want to run some lower body protection on my '07 X, that already has the factory plastic clad steps. My problem is that my family needs the step to be able to climb into the rig. So, is there a step friendly slider solution, as in something more secure to step on that a tubular bar?

I have N-Fab steps and love them.

I also have the N-Fab step bars. my wife is only 5' tall, the jeep has 2.5" lift with 35's and she can climb up into it with no problems. Love the N-Fabs...

Default How important is protection?

I have the mopar enhanced rails. I know you said you wanted more than a tube, but my whole family uses them for a step every day (two 7y/o daughters, a 15y/o daughter, and my wife into my jeep with 35s) . Plus, they are actual protection I have come down on them pretty hard and scraped along the length and they took it like a champ.
