Default New Member, Favorite Thread.

We built custom bumper on Cherokee. That was fun. Got rock lights, no pics, but probably my favorite homemade mod on my JK was the fender flares. Cost me about $15 for the self stick door trim (has held on great for over a year through mud, pressure washing and tree rubbing!!). I do not rub at all with these fenders with my 35 BFGs on. The did rub with stock flares. People love them and when I say I did them my self the cant believe it. Of coarse, those are not JeepPeople! I just traded that YellowJKJeep for a new unlimited Rubicon(silver). I have already waterproofed the stock rock rails. I will update this thread as I add more mods.

Future mods(home-made) will include invisible cb mounting, rear power outlets, rear storage cover, ...... the list will be too long to list. Photos as the come. will give photos of old jeep here very soon.

But I think my favorite homemade mod are my trash pouches. They come in handy more than anything else.

Nice, good thinking.

KCTW's rear bumper/carrier is the best looking bumper/carrier I've ever seen... I might have to borrow that idea when I build my bumper if its ok with KCTW. One question, did you get the carrier hinge from a to z fab?
How the heck do you mount that thing up there?

Easy.... get a peice of 2" angle iron, bend one end up so that it stops the jack base; bolt it to the cage gusset (i used 1/2 bolt), drill and tap the other cage gusset for 1/2" threaded rod, drill and add wing nut to lock the base down to the angle iron, and use a wing nut to hold the top of the jack to the 1/2" rod. Whole job only takes about 1.5 hours to fab everything up and do the work.

Always have my high lift with me and it's never once gotten in my way.

I made my own bumper and tire carrier. This was the first thing i welded up when i got my new welder. I taught myself to weld on this. I figured go big or go home.
