For those of you with 4.10's you would get 4.5's. If they went to 1.2/2.72 it may be to much of an increase for the daily driver, but I could live with turning my 3.72's into 4.46's.

Do I hear gas savings?
I've been thinking about this for a while. It sure seems changing the 1:1 to a 1.1:1 would open a huge can of worms. The ecu would probably go nuts with the insides of the tranny running one rpm and the output another. Plus the cost of making them would more than offset any gas savings. They'd have to sell a boatload of these to have them pay for themselves and I bet that wouldn't happen. If you want better performance in the vein you're talkin' change the diff gears. 4.10's, even 4.56's are basically nothing in the JK setup. You're wanting 4.88 min for a M/T and 5.13 min for an auto. That'd take some crazy weird gearing in the transfer case to make that happen.

I had 5.13 in my 44's with 37"s tires, automatic. It wasn't that bad with the factory 4 to 1 transfercase. Crawled pretty well. I didn't really notice any street ability difference when I went to 5.38's. Still on 37"s. But when you shift into low in the Atlas you will. Walk by it as it crawls.

I got the 5.44 Atlas 4sp. I have 5.38's in my 60's with ARB's. 37" tires with a automatic. I wanted this setup in case I decide to go with 40's one day. It crawls really well. I would go with this setup again over and over. It works!

Ooooooo, D60's! Congrats Dink. I love the 5.44' with 5.13's. 5.38's would be even better. After driving this, I don't think the 10.34 would be that useful. You could probably take a nap going over obstacles. I would like to check one out sometime though.

Thanks seer1. If your ever in NorCal.....Let me know. The 5.44 Atlas with the 5.38's on 37" w/auto is all I (that's me) would ever need. It really crawls in low. It gets around very well on the trail or street.

I am wonderin if it would be worth getting the 10.34 due to I have the 6 spd. I will eventually be getting 37's with 5.13R&P. or do yall think the 5.44 would be good enough? i am tired of it stalling due to not having enough power...and a "high" low range.

I think the 10.34 would be a overkill. The rubicon 4 to 1 is pretty damn good with 5.13's. Just depends on what your planning to do with it. The Atlas with 5.44 just gets you a little lower. Plus its really strong. My opinion only.

well I have the X so it has the 2.73 low...which suchs with a stick!! thats why i was wondering it it would be worth the 10.34 with the 6 spd.

With the 10.34, 5.13, 37's, 6 spd. final drive crawl ratio in 1st is 898.99.
Crawl speed at idle 1st gear is 8 FEET PER MINUTE!!
pretty much one tire revolution.

With 5.44, 5.13, 37's, 6 spd., final drive ratio in 1st is 472.97.
Crawl speed at idle 1st gear is 15 FEET PER MINUTE.

the numbers point to the 5.44, but I am personally tired of stalling tring to get over difficult obsticles. my crawl speed now in 1st idle is about 143 feet a minute. lol not easy going over big, rough terrain...llllooootttt of clutch work. this is why i have been leaning toward the 10.34, but i dont want to get it and wish i went with the 5.44. I mean i could always use 2nd or 3rd with the 10.34.

When I wheel normally it's never alone. I find myself shifting to 2nd gear in the auto to catch up to everyone or shift the 3rd lever on the Atlas into high range. When I get to a tough section I just lock it in low and go over it. I don't know what kinda wheeling you do, but the 10.34 ratio is super slow. I hope if you get it you let all of us know what you think. I'm curious how it will perform.
