it is awsome but after a winter and a hard wheeling weekend, i'm going to used bedlinner. but i will say that on the inside it held up, but on the top use a bedlinner spray.

I'm still confused on why Chrysler makes the inside white anyways. They shod be black from the factory in my opinion.....

Default Plasti Dip Ceiling

I agree! My Jeep is all black, inside and out, but had a white ceiling. So, earlier this year, I hit it with plasti dip. That was after I had already added Boom Mat to try and dampen the cabin noise for the sake of stereo sound quality. The Boom Mat presented a challenge, but I used painter's tape and newspaper to seal off the windows borders and Boom Mat, then hit it with about six cans of black Plasti Dip. I LOVE how it turned out. The texture that was on the white plastic gave it a leather look and the Dip gave it a suede/leather feel. Here are two pics. FYI, if your interior is dark and you do this, its like midnight in the car, so you may want to throw in some LED cab lights as well as some beneath your dash and rear seats...its DARK in there.

I wide metal painter's spatula comes in handy for this as well. Even though I had the windows taped off, I later saw spots that needed an extra coat and would wedge the spatula between the glass and plastic, then hit the spot. I also had to use it to kinda push back the Boom Mat and touch up a few spots where white was showing.

that's a very nice job on that.
But how well does the paint hold up? Especially where the latches rub.

Do a search for "plast dip testing" and find post #336. I dipped my freedom panels. I'd repost it here but my phone or the app is being dumb

The plastidip came off only where the latches make contact with the other freedom top...can't really see it when the latches are locked down. What I liked about the plastidip was that matte finish and texture. There have been some spots where I scuffed it removing the top, but hitting the spot with a short burst of plastidip makes it like new again. I'm sure the other options mentioned in here result in a nice finish too.

Just painted mine with a good Rustoleum satin black and then installed Hot headz headliner. I totally dig the way it came out. I have taken off the freedom top a few times and barely left a mark where the latches are. Nothing a black Sharpie cant take care of every now and then.

Looks great! Makes you wonder why they don't come that way doesn't it?
